Are Wolfberries Your Health Insurance?
I'm shocked to learn that as of 2004, 43 million Americans do not have health insurance. This concerns me very much. If they get sick, what will they do? Some people have healthcare but are very discouraged with the quality of care they receive. Who are they going to turn to if they can't get the health care they require? Even people who are very healthy or have access to excellent health care services are vulnerable to a variety of health dangers daily.
If I got really sick I would go to a conventional doctor. But only after trying to deal with it through alternative means (and first and foremost through prevention). Why? Are you sitting down? If not then maybe you should before reading this next bit of information. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published an article by Barbara Starfield that says 106,000 patients die each year due to negative effects of medical drugs. Surprised? Shocked? Me too.
Don't get me wrong, the science of the medical and pharmaceutical industries have brought us miraculous breakthroughs in health care. Doctors and nurses all over the world work hard to help heal human disease and suffering. But do we have to let ourselves get to the point of a major health crisis? The answer is no, most diseases are preventable.
What is your plan of defence for your health?
You don't just wake up one day with cancer. When a disease materialises it's because something started going wrong a while ago when your defence was down and was succumbing to the attack of the 'Big Mac'. Or in other words, peoples' unhealthy lifestyle choices coupled with no plan of defence got them in real hot water over time. Some of you know what I'm talking about. Some of you don't. Let me explain what is going on with the health of America.
Circulatory Disease and Cancer
The two biggest mass murderers in America are not terrorists. They are circulatory disease and cancer. Annually, circulatory disease kills over a million Americans. This year, cancer will cut short the lives of about six hundred thousand people. The irony is that armed with a plan of defence most of these countless personal tragedies could have been prevented before the disease took root. American or not, what is your plan of defence for your health?
